Only a handful of film makers in Kollywood have architected a filmmaking trademark for themselves. Director Arun Matheswaran has entered that list rightway with his first two films. The director who ventured into Tamil cinema with his stunning crime drama Rocky with actor Vasanth Ravi in the lead, once again sent quivering waves in the industry with his sophomore work Saani Kaayidham with actress Keerthy Suresh and Selvaraghavan in the lead roles. Though both the ventures had a bad business, they enjoyed a great reception among the critics and received critical acclamations. Now, on his third directorial he is all set to direct actor Dhanush. The project is titled Captain Miller. Just the title has engendered a lot of curiosity on the flick. The production team has been busy with finalizing the cast for the movie. They recently brought actors Priyanka Mohan and Sundeep Kishan on board. We had also reported the same. Now we have an interesting piece of news on the movie.

The film went on floors earlier this month and the first schedule of shoot has been wrapped. Now, we have info that the second schedule of shoot will soon begin and is set to take place in Tirunelveli. Actor Dhanush has reached Tirunelveli and has joined the team to begin the second schedule. It is said that a substantial portion of the entertainer will be shot in and around the localities of Tirunelveli.
Speaking about the flick to a leading media house, film maker Arun Matheswaran said, “Dhanush plays the titular role. But he will also be addressed with two other names. He has three different looks in the entertainer. I am sure his fans will love watching him in Captain Miller.” Answering why he picked actor Dhanush, he stated, “The central character of Captain Miller was shaped with an intention to make a high-octane action drama. The story was not written for a specific actor. But I felt that actor Dhanush would be perfect to portray the role. Personally, I like how he balances between being a popular star and a terrific performer. Captain Miller explores a life journey of over 15 years of its central character. There are a wide range of emotions and the transition part of a person’s life to be portrayed convincingly. I felt Dhanush would be able to do it perfectly.”
Captain Miller is touted to be a fast-paced action drama. It is said that the story of Captain Miller is set at the backdrop of the pre-independence epoch in the Madras Presidency between 1930 – 1940. Apart from actors Dhanush, Priyanka Mohan, and Sundeep Kishan, Captain Miller has actors John Kokken, Nivedhithaa Sathish, and Moor playing various other supporting roles. The musical department of the entertainer has been handed over to musician G. V. Prakash Kumar. Cinematographer Shreyas Krishna of Rocky fame will be shouldering the camera for the flick. Editor Nagooran has been bestowed with the responsibility to edit the movie. The project is funded by T. G. Thyagarajan for the banner house Sathya Jyothi Films. The production unit has plans to release the project in multiple languages including Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
On the work front, actor Dhanush who was last seen on screens in the romantic comedy movie Thiruchitrambalam is getting ready for the release of his upcoming drama titled Vaathi filmed by story teller Venky Atluri in which he has romanced actress Samyuktha Menon. The actor will soon begin to shoot for his next venture that is tentatively titled D 46 which is set to be directed by film maker Sekhar Kammula. Besides these ventures, the Velai Illa Pattathari actor has Naane Varuven helmed by Selvaraghavan in the post production shaping up for release.
