Thalaivar 171 has already created a buzz across the country. Superstar is currently busy shooting for his 170th film Vettaiyan directed by T.J Gnanavel of “Jai Bhim” fame. It’s been said that Thalaivar 171 will be made on a whopping budget and Makers Sun Pictures are eyeing for Pan India release. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj the project has a huge star cast which is expected to be announced by this month end. Lokesh Kanagaraj officially launched the project with a first look in which Superstar Rajinikanth is seen in a retro look. The glimpse is expected to be released in the coming days.
Now the latest buzz is that Bollywood star Ranveer Singh is expected to play an important role in the project. However, it’s not yet officially confirmed but sources point out that Lokesh Kanagaraj is in talks with the actor and the actor has also responded positively. Already Lokesh Kanagaraj has cast Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt in his last directorial venture Leo starring Thalapathy Vijay. It has worked well for the movie, particularly during the OTT release. According to Netflix LEO remains one of the most-watched South Indian movies dubbed in Hindi.
It seems Lokesh is all set to continue this success formula which will help the makers to get Pan India reach. Title and Glimpse will be unveiled on April 22 and shooting will commence officially from there on. Hopefully, if this association materialises Kollywood can also enter into the 1000 crore club grosser club.
