Legend Saravanan, one of the most successful and popular entrepreneurs in the state, began acting in the commercials made for his retail chains. Now, he is all set to make his debut in Tamil cinema through the science fiction venture titled The Legend. The venture is scripted and filmed by debutant director JD Jerry, who had helmed the commercials of Legend Saravanan’s businesses. Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela is set to make her debut in Tamil cinema with her female lead role in the drama. Ever since the launch of the project, there has been an extensive marketing campaign for the drama which has generated a lot of noise around the entertainer. The venture is touted to be an out and out commercial mass action drama.
Now, the production house has announced the release date of the flick on social media. The Legend is poised to hit the theaters on 28th of this month in languages Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. Distributor and producer G. N. Anbu Chezhian of Gopuram Cinemas has bagged the theatrical rights of the movie for Tamil Nadu who has planned to release the flick in more than 800 screens across the state. The film will have more than 2500 screens worldwide. Director JD Jerry has shared the news. Taking to his official twitter handle the director shared the pictures of actor Legend Saravanan and G. N. Anbu Chezhian stood with a poster of the film, and wrote, “The Legend movie starring The Legend Saravanan is associated with Gopuram Cinemas G. N. Anbu Chezhian for Tamil Nadu theatrical release. In a press release released by the team, it has been stated that the pan Indian entertainer made on a larger scale budget enfolds a range of emotions, comedy, and action which will surely attract repeat audiences. The movie has been shot in Chennai, Pollachi, Himalayas, and in several overseas locations. The first look motion poster and the trailer of the film unveiled by the production unit had a mixed response from the audience. Actor Legend Saravanan will be seen in the role of a scientist.
Apart from actors Legend Saravanan and Urvashi Rautela, the casting department of the movie has actors Geethika, Nasser, Vivekh, Prabhu, Yogi Babu, Latha, Kovai Sarala, Vijaya Kumar, Suman, Livingston, Robo Shankar, Sachu, Vamsi Krishna, Deepa Shankar, Hareesh Peradi, Singampuli, Mayilsamy, Mansoor Ali Khan, Besant Ravi, and Yashika Aannand essaying various other supporting roles. Actress Raai Laxmi has done a hot item number in the entertainer under the choreography of master Raju Sundaram. Ace music director Harris Jayaraj has handled the musical instruments for the flick. Cinematographer R. Velraj has cranked the camera for the drama. Editor Antony L Ruben has been bestowed with the responsibility to edit the flick. The project is funded by Legend Saravanan himself for his production house The New Legend Saravana Stores Productions.
On the work front, actress Urvashi Rautela who was last seen on screens in Virgin Bhanupriya is currently busy shooting for her upcoming Telugu Hindi bilingual project christened Black Rose directed by storyteller Mohan Bharadwaj. Apart from this venture, the actress has Dil Hai Gray helmed by film maker Susi Ganesan in the post production getting ready for release.
