First Single ‘Ekavali’ From Johnny’s Renigunta 2 Is A Romantic Number!

Renigunta which released back in 2009 without much fanfare went on to be a sleeper hit and carved a place for itself in Tamil cinema. Nearly after two decades the production team has decided to deliver a sequel for the project. Actor Johnny who played the lead role in the first part has headlined the second edition as well. Story teller R Panneerselvam, who was in the director’s cockpit for the first part, has written and helmed the second installment as well. 

Actress Shali Nivekas of Peranbum Perungobamum fame will be seen in the female lead role in the movie. The shoot for Renigunta 2 predominately took place in and around the neighborhood of Trichy, and wee bit in Mumbai. The production house is eyeing to release the entertainer in the month of September. An official date for the release of the movie is expected to be announced soon. The makers had recently released the teaser of the film on social media. They have now unveiled the first single from the album. 

Taking to his official X handle, musician G V Prakash Kumar shared a special poster along with a link to the first single ‘Ekavali’ from Renigunta 2 and wrote, “Best of luck team . . . Singer Sid Sriram has lent his voice for the number. Lyricist Yugabharathi has penned lyrics for the song. Dance master Azar has choreographed dance moves for the number. The track is mixed and mastered by Rupendar Venkatesh. Music composer Manu Ravichandran will make his debut in Kollywood as a musician with the movie. He is a former associate of music director & actor G V Prakash Kumar. 

Renigunta follows the journey of five youngsters who escape from a juvenile detention center and flee to Andhra Pradesh, only to land in trouble there. The entertainer had actors Sanusha, Nishanth, Sandeep, Theepetti Ganesan, and Tamizh in lead roles. 

Apart from Johnny and Shali Nivekas, the star cast of Renigunta 2 also has Malayalam actor Abhimanyu Shami Thilakan, Kanifa, Nishanth, Vela Ramamurthy, Hareesh Peradi, Tamizh Selvam, Arun, Sujatha, Jacintha, Surbhi, Sandeep, and Aahana playing various supporting characters. 

Cinematographer R B Gurudev has taken care of the cinematography division of the movie. Editor Anthony has been bestowed with the responsibility to chop and patch the drama. Art director Lalgudi N Ilayaraja has engineered the background for the flick. Action director K Rajasekar has designed action blocks in the movie. Renigunta 2 is produced by R Panneerselvam himself under the production company Panneerselvam Film Factory, in affiliation with K Devakumar for the production label Kings Studio. 

On the professional front, actress Shali Nivekas will soon have consecutive releases in Kaagangal directed by story teller Anand Annamalai in which she has shared screen space with actors Vidharth, Yogi Babu, Lijo Mol Jose, & Guru Somasundaram, and Game Play created by director S Sivanesan in which she will be seen alongside actors Charukesh, Kishore Kumar, & Vinoth Kishan.
