Over two-minute trailer opens to a voiceover, “Who is he?” The response being, “My master, Bala sir” We then have actor Samuthirakani’s voiceover, “In our country education is a non-profitable service. On behalf of the private schools association, we will be running all the government schools in our area. We will be sending all of you as faculties there.” Following which we have hero introduction, subsequently, heroine introduction where a staff introduces Samyuktha Menon, “Ms. Meenakshi, biology teacher of our school.” The trailer takes us on a reminiscence ride of our school days with actor Dhanush’s character mouthing the rhyme, “Inky pinky ponky. Father had a donkey. Donkey’s died father cried inky pinky ponky.” Vaathi is set at the backdrop of 1980’s where actor Dhanush depicts the role of Balamurugan, a tutor who fights the education mafia pushing for complete privatization of the education system. Actor Samuthirakani is seen as a chic corporate businessman. The premise indeed seems interesting. The trailer has garnered attention of the audience, and has engineered high expectations on the project.

Sai Kumar, Shrutika, Tanikella Bharani, Samuthirakani, Thotapalli Madhu, Narra Srinivas, Pammi Sai, Hyper Aadi, Shara, Aadukalam Naren, Ilavarasu, Rajendran, Hareesh Peradi, and Praveena depicting various other supporting parts.
