Actor G V Prakash Kumar lastly entertained audiences in the crime thriller Blackmail helmed by Mu Maran with actresses Teju Ashwini and Bindu Madhavi in the female lead roles. The Dear star is now getting ready for the release of his next movie titled Happy Raj. Debutant director Maria Raja Elanchezian, erstwhile associate of director & actor Pradeep Ranganathan, has written and directed the drama.
Actress Sri Gouri Priya of Lover fame has been cast as the female lead in the flick. Veteran actor Abbas, who anticipates his comeback to Tamil cinema after a decade, has depicted her father’s role in the venture. The project was recently wrapped and sent for post production work. The production house had recently released a vibe check video from the flick. They have now launched the first single from the album on social media.
Taking to his official X profile, actor G V Prakash Kumar himself unveiled the first single ‘Aadiney Irupen’ from Happy Raj and captioned it, “Aadiney Irupen OUT NOW!!! Play it once, play it twice. Feel the vibe, that’s the price. Singer Gana Vinoth has lent his voice for the track. He has also written lyrics for the song. The number is mixed by Balu Thankachan and mastered by Gethin John. Dance master Manichandra has choreographed dance moves for the track. Music director Justin Prabhakaran has handled musical instruments for the entertainer.
Earlier talking to a leading media house about the title, director Maria Raja Elanchezian stated, “There is nothing extraordinary behind it. My intent is to craft an entertainer that makes people profoundly happy. Tamil cinema is used to taking audiences to a euphoric state with mass entertainers that induce adrenaline rush. But of late with the advent of social media, I feel there has been unfiltered negativity, and a sense of despair among people.”
Speaking further he said, “I felt the need to make a film that would infuse joy and be a counteragent to despair. Even the protagonist in the story is named ‘Happy’. You will hear the name numerous times throughout the film. As it reflects the essence of the plot. I am confident that the audience will experience optimism and have a feeling of positivity when they leave theaters.”
Beside G V Prakash Kumar, Abbas, and Sri Gouri Priya, the casting crew of Happy Raj also has actors George Mariyam, Geetha Kailasam, Adhirchi Arun, Prathana Nathan, Sofa Boy Rasool, Madurai Muthu, and Devi Mahesh portraying various supporting parts. Cinematographer Madhan Christopher has taken care of the cinematography division of the movie.
Editor Selva R K has been contracted to chop and patch the entertainer. Art director Ayyapan has designed sets for the flick. Action master Om Siva Prakash has engineered action blocks for the drama. Happy Raj is funded by Jayavardhanan along with Jaikanth Suresh under the production company Beyond Pictures.
On the professional front, actor G V Prakash Kumar will soon have a release in the digital forum via Lucky The Superstar filmed by Uday Mahesh in which he has shared screen space with actress Anaswara Rajan. He also awaits the release of a couple of his delayed ventures Adangathey helmed by Shanmugam Muthuswamy in which he will be seen alongside actress Surbhi Chandra, and 13 directed by Vivek K Kannan in which he has joined forces with actresses Aadya Prasad and Bhavya Trikha.
The Kalvan actor is now simultaneously shooting for various films in Kadhalikka Yarumillai scripted by Kamal Prakash in which he will be associating with actress Raiza Wilson, Immortal crafted by Mariyappan Chinna in which he will be costarring with actress Kayadu Lohar, Idi Muzhakkam helmed by Seenu Ramasamy in which he will be collaborating with actress Gayathrie, and Mental Manadhil filmed by Selvaraghavan in which he will be performing alongside actress Madhuri Jain.
