This is not the first time that we have had the news of the Simbu starrer Maanadu getting shelved. When the rumor about the project being shelved hit the social media last time, the producer of the film Suresh Kamatchi immediately responded to it by stating that the project is very much on and requested people to not believe in rumors revolving around the project. Lately in the last month a video of actor Simbu preparing for Maanadu went viral and the fans of the actor were very much excited about it. But now, again news has hit the K town that the venture has been temporarily put on hold and this time the producer has not responded to the news.
In the meantime, we have an interesting development on director Venkat Prabhu’s next venture. We have reports that the film maker is set to foray in to the digital space since his political entertainer Maanadu has been put on hold. According to a source close to the director, “Maanadu has been temporarily put on hold I guess as we had no news on the development of the flick still, which must have gone on floors already by now. Since it has been stalled Venkat Prabhu has now turned his attention to his next directorial. He will be directing a web series next for the Star Networks which will be aired on their digital platform Hotstar. An official announcement regarding the same will be made soon.”
Well, finally seems like the Tamil cinema film makers and artists are beginning to turn their attention to the digital space and it is good to see their interest to explore the freedom that the digital space offers them. Recently, actor Prasanna made his digital space debut with Thiravam which was tagged with positive reviews from the critics but on the commercial front there are no official announcements yet. We wish the director the very best on his new endeavor and hope he succeeds in entertaining us even in the small screen.
Meanwhile, the news of Maanadu begin put on hold is a terrible news for actor Simbu as well as for his fans who have been eagerly waiting for the political drama to go on floors. The actor went to London to get in to shape for the film and returned to Tamil Nadu in a debonair look. But it turns out the actor has to wait for some more time to star in the flick. Hope the Manmadhan star stays in shape until the movie goes on floors.
On the work front, director Venkat Prabhu is gearing up for the release of his multi starrer entertainer Party which has an ensemble cast. He is also making moves to bring out his production venture RK Nagar. Apart from direction and production, the multi facet man will be seen in the antagonist role in an untitled film which has his best pal Vaibhav Reddy as the lead hero. He has also played a part in Kasada Thabara which is directed by his buddy Chimbu Deven.
