Actor Arjun Das was last seen on screens in a cameo appearance in the action thriller drama Vikram which hit the theaters under the direction of story teller Lokesh Kanagaraj with actors Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahadh Faasil in the lead roles. The venture was tagged with mixed reviews by both critics and audience. Despite that, the movie went on to be a runaway success. The Kaithi actor has now put that behind him, and is gearing up for the release of his next Tamil Telugu bilingual project christened Aneethi in which he has played the lead part. The Telugu version of the movie is titled Blood & Chocolate. Actress Dushara Vijayan has portrayed the female lead part. Director Vasanthabalan of Kaaviya Thalaivan fame has written, and directed the entertainer. The drama which went on floors last year with a small pooja ceremony is now wrapped, and is in the post production stage shaping up for release.
The production team has now announced the release date of the venture on social media. Aneethi is all set to hit the theaters on 21st of July this year. Taking to their official twitter page, the production house dropped a poster from the film and wrote, “Tilt upside down for the surprise! Yes, brace yourself for the blood-soaked sweetness of Blood & Chocolate. Aneethi released in Tamil & Telugu on July 21st. A Vasanthabalan film!” Here is the tweet made by the production house.

The production house had recently released the title teaser of the movie. One-minute odd long teaser video opens to the voiceover of actor Arjun Das, “S Pictures director Shankar presents.” In the video we see the actor climbing a staircase with an axe with drops of blood dripping. The video ends with a blood-soaked Arjun Das looking through a broken door. The video has engendered high expectations on the venture. Earlier speaking to a leading media house in the state, director Vasanthabalan said, “Aneethi will be an emotional entertainer. The story of the flick is centered around corporate layoffs, how that impacts people, especially youngsters, and how they go about life after losing their job. Actor Arjun Das plays an IT employee while actress Dushara Vijayan will be seen as a working middle class woman.”
Apart from actors Arjun Das, and Dushara Vijayan, the casting department of the drama has actress Vanitha Vijaykumar, Bharani, Suresh Chakravarthi, Pugazh, Aranthangi Nisha, Kaali Venkat, Sarah, Arjun Chidambaram, Subramaniam Siva, J Sathish Kumar, and T Siva playing various other supporting roles. Music director G V Prakash Kumar has scored music for the movie. Cinematographer A M Edwin Sakay has been behind the lens for the flick. Editor Ravikumar has been roped in to edit the movie. Art director Suresh Kallery has designed the background for the venture. Action directors Don Ashok and Phoenix Prabhu have choreographed action blocks for the entertainer. The project is funded by G Vasanthabalan for the banner label Pebbles Studio along with Murugan Gnanavel for the production house SR & DS Pictures, and Varadharajan Manickam and M Krishna Kumar under the production company Urban Boyz Studios. The drama is presented by director Shankar under his home banner S Pictures.
On the work front, actor Arjun Das who had his last outing in Vikram is currently busy shooting for his next Telugu film titled OG directed by storyteller Sujeeth in which he will be co starring with actor Pawan Kalyan and Emraan Hashmi. Apart from this flick, the actor has Leo helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj in which he will be seen in a cameo part alongside actor Vijay, and Dhruva Natchathiram crafted by film maker Gautham Vasudev Menon in which he has shared screen space with actors Vikram and Ritu Varma in different stages of post production getting fine tuned for release. On the other hand, actress Dushara Vijayan who was last seen on screens in Kazhuvethi Moorkkan is currently busy shooting for her upcoming project christened Raayan filmed by Dhanush in which she will be collaborating with actor Dhanush.
