Film maker Mari Selvaraj garnered the attention of Tamil cinema audience in his very first movie Pariyerum Perumal which spoken of the caste issues prevalent in certain parts of the state. The film acted as a great launch pad for the former associate of director Ram. The flick not only earned him critical acclamations but also managed to keep the box office ticking. Now, the story teller who was on a break has begun the pre-production works of his next venture which will have multi facet actor Dhanush in the lead role. We have an important news about the venture.
The project was announced in the month of November last year by actor Dhanush who was impressed by Pariyerum Perumal. After the announcement there were no developments on the project. But now we have news that the production unit has named the venture. According to a source close to the production unit, “Director Mari Selvaraj is busy with the pre production paper works of the flick. Recently, director Mari Selvaraj and Dhanush met to finalize the script for the film. The project has been tentatively named as Karnan. Actor Dhanush is currently busy with his ongoing projects. Once he wraps up his current projects we will begin shooting for this venture.” With the busy schedule that actor Dhanush is in, odds for the flick to go on floors anything soon are very less. Though, the movie has received a working title we will have to wait to see whether the unit will release the drama with the same title or go with another one.
As of now there are no details about the nature of the script. But the title Karnan has got us guessing in many angles. We will have to wait to see whether the director takes up the caste issues again or chooses to go with an entirely new subject. The motion picture will be bankrolled by Kalaipuli S Thanu under his home banner V Creations. The rest of the cast and crew that will be part of the movie are expected to be announced soon.
On the work front, the actor is busy with his action crime thriller Asuran which is directed by Vetri Maaran in which he will be sharing the screen space with Malayalam actress Manju Warrior. The actor recently wrapped up the shooting of his next film titled as Pataas directed by Durai Senthil Kumar in which he will be romancing actress Sneha nearly after 13 long years. Apart from these movies, the actor has an untitled flick with director Ram Kumar of Ratsasan fame and another untitled project under the directorial of film maker Karthick Subbaraj.
