The Young and talented story teller Karthick Naren turned the attention of Tamil cinema audience in his very first directorial venture Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru which had actor Rahman in the lead role. The crime thriller received critical acclamations from the critics in the industry for its craft and screenplay. Though his second project titled as Naragasooran ran in to some financial struggle the director has bounced back with a solid film named as Mafia. Ever since the project went on floors the buzz around the venture was too high and one of the reasons for the hype was that it was announced to be a trilogy project. Now, one of the bigwigs in the industry has spoke about the project and has showered praises on director Karthick Naren.
Recently, director Karthick Naren has specially screened the teaser of his upcoming film Mafia to super star Rajinikanth. After watching the teaser of the movie the Petta actor has showered praises on the young film maker. The director himself has shared the message on social media. Taking to his twitter account, the director shared a photo of himself with our super star and shared that the actor appreciated him wholeheartedly for his work. The director even shared the exact words that he received from the star “Brilliant, work Kanna. Semaya irukku. Loved it” These were Ranjini sir’s word after watching the teaser of Mafia. Thank god I did not faint. Blown away by his humility. Thalaivar for a reason.’ Responding to this, actor Arun Vijay has re-tweeted the tweet and wrote, ‘Really happy to get the first appreciation for our Mafia teaser from Thalaivar himself! Thank you Rajini sir. Can’t wait for you all to watch it!!’
The production unit is in plans to launch the teaser of the drama along with the theatrical release of Suriya’s mass action entertainer Kaappaan which is set to hit the screens on 20th of September. This is definitely a great news for the fans of the actor who are eagerly waiting for the release of the entertainer. Earlier speaking about the venture, the story teller had stated, “Mafia is an out and out gangster saga. All I can say for now is that Mafia will not be a regular potboiler North Chennai gangster story that Tamil cinema audience is used to. Mafia will be an intensely gripping drama set in the backdrop of Chennai.”
The motion picture is funded by Subaskaran under the banner Lyca Productions. Besides actor Arun Vijay and Priya Bhavani Shankar, actor Prasanna will be depicting an important role in the project. Actor Arun Vijay is currently fresh from the success that he tasted in the crime thriller Thadam directed by Magizh Thirumeni. Karthick Naren’s massive success of Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru has created a huge expectation on the project. We will have to wait to see whether the gifted director stands up to the expectation this time around.
On the work front, actor Arun Vijay is currently busy shooting for an untitled project under the directorial of director GNR Kumaravelan. Apart from this entertainer the actor has the sports drama Boxer which is directed by Vivek and his project with musician turned actor Vijay Antony titled Agni Siragugal directed by Naveen of Moodar Koodam fame, getting shaped up in the post production stage.
