Sasikumar is yet to have a release this year as a solo lead hero but had played a cameo role in the super star Rajinikanth starrer Petta which went on to become a block buster hit. The Subramaniyapuram star is now busy shooting for multiple projects simultaneously. Recently, we had reported that the actor will be teaming up with Sarath Kumar for the action adventure drama Naa Naa which is set to be directed by N. V. Nirmal Kumar of Salim fame. The first look poster of the film was launched on social media recently which garnered the attention of the audience. Now, we have an important update on the casting of the flick.
The production unit has brought actress Chitra Shukla on board to play the female lead role in the film. The actress is said to be seen in the role of a dancer. The director himself revealed the news to the media. The story teller recently spoke about the project as well as about the addition of Chitra Shukla to the casting to a leading daily. Speaking about the heroine addition, the director said, “Chitra Shukla will be playing the love interest of actor Sasi Kumar in the drama. She will portray the role of a dancer. She will be joining the team from the second schedule of shoot.” The unit has already wrapped up the first schedule shoot in Mumbai.
Speaking about the project, the director stated, “The story begins in Chennai which later travels to Mumbai and nearly about 45 minutes of the story take place there. The second half will again happen in Chennai with an important flashback portion which is set at the background of Theni. Sasi Kumar will depict the character of Na Narayanan and hence the title of the entertainer is Naa Naa. Actor Sarath Kumar is set to essay an equally important character of a police official hailing from Mumbai locality in the movie.” The story teller was careful to not reveal anything regarding the plot and said he does not want to shatter the suspense element in the story.
Actor Sasi Kumar has undergone a complete change over to get him in to the urban look. The motion picture is bankrolled by P. K. Ram Mohan under the banner Kalpatharu Pictures, who had also produced Salim. The musical instrument for the entertainer will be handled by Harshwardhan Rameshwar. The cinematography department of the venture is handed over to Ganesh Chandra, while S. P. Raja Sethupathi will be taking care of the editing department.
On the work front, Sasikumar is gearing up for the release of his next sports entertainer Kennedy Club which will hit the screens under the directorial of director Suseenthiran. Apart from this film the actor has Naadodigal 2 directed by Samuthira Kani, Kombu Vacha Singamda, and Rajavamsam in his pipeline. The actor also has the romantic thriller Enai Noki Paayum Thota in which he has shared the screen space with Dhanush all cooked up and waiting for release for a long time now.
