Actress Oviya who set foot in Kollywood in the year 2010 through the comedy entertainer Kalavani enjoyed a runaway success in her very first film. Following the comedy flick she played the female lead role in handful of projects but the actress could not gain the necessary recognition to make it big in the industry. The recognition and fan following that the actress desired came after she took part in the first season of Tamil Bigg Boss hosted by veteran actor Kamal Hassan. The fame that she earned from participating in Tamil Bigg Boss brought in many offers to her door steps. Adult film 90 ML, Ragava Lawrence starrer Kanchana 3, and Ganesha Meendum Sandhippom are few among them. But except Kanchana 3 nothing fared well at the box office.
Now the actress is said to have high hopes on her next project Kalavani 2 which is being bombarded for some time now due to financial tussles. From court laying interim ban to nasty talking between the opposition party and director of the project, the flick went through a lot of troubles. But recently actor Vimal signed a three film deal with Kumaran from Sri Dhanalakshmi productions, who happens to be one keeping the flick away from coming to the theaters. After sorting out the problem by signing a three film deal, the actor announced that Kalavani 2 will hit the screens soon. The venture was expected to hit the screens on 28th of June. But due to some other reasons the movie has been again postponed but fortunately not for a long time. The comedy entertainer is pushed for a week later and is slated to hit the screens on 5th of July.
The television right of the drama was recently bagged by Zee Tamil Entertainments. The trailer of Kalavani 2 hit the social media few weeks back and has created a necessary initial talk about the movie. But we will have to wait to see whether the sequel replicates the success produced by the prequel in the franchise.
The comedy movie was recently sent to the censor board for censor certification and it cleared with a clean U certificate. The movie has almost the same cast that was in the prequel with Saranya Ponvannan, Ganja Karuppu, Ilavarasu and Vinodhini Vaidyanathan in various roles. RJ Vigneshkanth will be a new addition to the cast. Besides scripting and directing the comedy drama A. Sarkunam will be bankrolling the venture as well under his home banner Varmans Productions. The musical department for the project is handled by three musicians Mani Amudhavan V2, V. Ronald Regan, and Natarajan Sankaran. While Masani has handled the camera for the entertainer, Raja Mohammed will be trimming the motion picture.
On the work front, actor Vimal is currently busy shooting for his next flick Kanni Raasi under the directorial of Muthukumaran. While Oviya is also gearing up for the release of her another project titled Raja Bheema in which she will be sharing the screen space with Aarav.
