Actor Simbu was last seen on screens in the film Vandhaa Rajavathaan Varuven under the directorial of Sundar C. The family entertainer turned out to be a miserable failure after which the actor decided to take a break from films to focus on his fitness level. The actor who flew to London to get back to shape returned to India to attend his brother Kuralarasan’s wedding. To everyone’s surprise the actor had lost nearly 13 kilos in just 37 days and looked sharp and trim. The actor is expected to begin shooting for his film Maanaadu directed by Venkat Prabhu from the month of June.
Meanwhile, the actor has begun shooting for his next film titled Maha which will hit the screens under the directorial of debutant director U. R. Jameel. The women centric film will have actress Hansika Motwani in the lead role which happens to be the actress’s 50th film in her career. Actor Simbu and rumored ex boy friend of the actress is said to play an extended cameo appearance in the film.
The director himself has announced that the film has gone on floors. Taking to his twitter account the directed posted a picture of the team and stated that actor Simbu’s portion in the film is currently underway. When the first look of the film was unveiled on 9th December 2018 it created a lot of controversy as in the poster the actress was seen sitting on a chair in Kavi attire and smoking tobacco. It created a lot of outrage among the people of Hindu religion in the state and a petition was filed seeking the arrest of the actress along with the team involved in the film. There was no further development on the case.
The actress who is running out of project in Tamil cinema is said to have high hope on the project and the cameo appearance of her rumored ex boy friend Simbu has gained the necessary initial attention for the film. The actor is also gearing up for a fresh start to the second phase of his career. We will have to wait to see how the film turns out for both the actors.
Apart from actress Hansika, the film has actors Srikanth, Thambi Ramaiah, Karunakaran, Nassar, Jayaprakash, Jennifer in various other supporting roles. The musical instruments for the film will be handled by Ghibran. While the cinematography for the film is performed by R. Madhi, the trimming works for the film will be done by Sathyaraj Natarajan. The film is bankrolled by R. Madhi under his banner Etcetera Entertainment.
On the work front the actor will join the sets of Maanaadu after wrapping up the shoot of Maha. Actress Kalyani Priyadarshan will be playing the female lead in the film that will be bankrolled by Suresh Kamatchi.
