Director A.R.Murugadoss and Thalapathy Vijay joined hands for the third time in ’Sarkar’ which was also a box office hit like their previous movies ‘Thuppakki’ and ‘Kaththi’. But the movie was entangled in controversy as the ruling ADMK government objected to Varalakshmi Sarathkumar’s name ‘Komavalavalli’ in the film, which was the original name of former Chief Minister Jayalalitha. Also in some scenes, the freebies given to the voters in the 2011 election were shown thrown into flames. After ADMK party members demolished banner in theatres and conducted agitations the aforesaid scenes were removed from the movie.
The Tamil Nadu Government lodged complaints against Director A.R.Murugadoss and ordered that he give an assurance that he will not disparage the Government in any of his future films. But, A.R.Murugadoss refused to comply with any conditions. The court has extended the stay on arresting the Director till December 13th. Meantime a social activist named Devarajan has lodged cases against A.R.Murugadoss for spreading deceptive ideas to the general public about the government schemes under sections 153, 153(A), 505(a)(B)(C). It is speculated that A.R.Murugadoss will soon be summoned to the court in the hearing of the new cases filed by Devarajan also along with the pending Tamil Nadu government cases.
