Due to the Cauvery protests in the South, film releases, shooting, production and every kind of work has been suspended for a while now and it goes without saying that Rajnikanth starrer, the much awaited gangster drama,’ Kaala‘ will not release on the slated date that is, on the 27th of April. But, good news for the fans as rumours have surfaced that the film will be released the weekend of Eid this June. Although there haven’t been any official announcement yet confirming the news. The production work of the film has been completed and even has been passed by the censor board with a ‘U/A’ certificate. It is only the unstable condition of the state that is delaying the release.
The audience are eagerly waiting to catch the film to see their favourite superstar Rajnikanth in the role of a gangster. Set in the slums of Dharavi, the film also star Nana Patekar who will play the role of the main antagonist. The project will be headed by director Pa Ranjith and will also feature actors like Huma Qureshi, Eswari Rao, Samuthirakani and Anjali Patil in significant roles.
