Surya’s home banner 2D Entertainment funded the project. Speaking at the press meet Producer K.E.Gnanavel Raja said that they initially planned to remake Telugu movie Manam. But Vikram Kumar first asked them to listen a fresh script and then take a decision.
He narrated the script of ‘24‘ for 4.5 hours and both Suriya and Gnanavel Raja were mightily impressed. Immediately they opted the fresh script and left ‘Manam’. He also said this movie is going to be a landmark one in Surya’s career.
